When physiotherapists use IMS/ dry needling therapy for pain relief

I ntramuscular Stimulation Or IMS has become a a very common way to treat pain. When muscles become tight due to an injury or illness it may cause pain and to treat this condition IMS is used by many physiotherapists along with several different exercises.  When the therapist does the examination, he locates the trigger point where he inserts needles so a person may feel a twitching sensation at that point. The needle needs to be moved in up or down direction so the muscle tightening can be resolved. The process needs repetition for better results. The resting and relaxing of muscles helps the patient to get rid of pain. The person is able to move properly after that. The IMS/dry needling procedure is used with a combination of exercises fo best results.  A healing technique that resolves many problems:  In this process the needles are inserted at pain points which triggers the muscles to release pain subsiding endorphins in the body. It is also known as pressure point massage. Dry ne
